What does a system operator in Germany do?

Recycling Dual is a nationwide dual system and has been part of EKO-PUNKT GmbH & Co. KG since July 2026. As an independent dual system, we support producers and distributors in meeting their legal obligations under the German Packaging Act (VerpackG) and the upcoming requirements of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) reliably and efficiently.

Together with EKO-PUNKT, we combine many years of experience in packaging licensing with extensive expertise in circular economy, recycling and packaging compliance. Quality, personal service and practical, customer-focused solutions are at the core of everything we do.

Packaging licensing / EPR – what is it?

Licensing your sales packaging ensures the take-back and recycling of packaging waste that accumulates in German households. Manufacturers, online retailers, sellers and importers of packaged goods must join a dual system, thus ensuring the take-back and recycling of their packaging.

Packaging licensing according to VerpackG

As of now, you can license all sales packaging easily and online for 2022 and ongoing. Our online service is aimed at all small and medium-sized distributors and manufacturers. For large customers, we have individual licensing offers ready. The takeover of transport and service packaging is also part of our service portfolio.

Consulting – personal and digital

We advise you on licensing and support you in sustainable packaging optimization. New companies in particular often need help with reporting to the LUCID packaging register. Customers receive professional advice on sustainable packaging optimization in conjunction with our affiliated Experience Centers.
